Did not feel like a swim in the salt so headed for Bala for a change. Arrived to see others rigging 4 to 4.5 but it looked pretty gusty so opted for a flat 5.0.

Took the JP with a 25cm fin. I was well impressed with the way the board handled the overpowered gusts and chop. Next time I am maxed with a 5.7 I will try that fin as as it really loosened the board up.

After being massively overpowered I came in for a rest and then got brave so popped the 5.0 on the S- Type and gave it plenty. Scared myself sh*tless for about 40min totally maxed out and going pretty quick. I really do need a smaller fin as the 33cm was just popping me out of the water every time I got to a certain speed. Damn good fun even though pretty gusty.
